Portsmouth 3 Blackburn Rovers 0

Well got to Portsmouth around midday and went to the pub The Travellers Joy. The reason for getting there early is to get a good parking space, so I can get out quick to beat the traffic. The weather was a bit changeable but mostly dry.

So in the pub I was entertained with Sheffield United V Liverpool on the TV. With a pint of John Smith’s and a copy of the Portsmouth News to read I settled down to a pre match drink. When my mum arrived I knew it would not be long till we went to Fratton. My mum had decided to wear the same coat as me, but as I am not a girl that did not bother me.

Once in the ground the buzz and atmosphere began to grow. The sun came out just in time for the game to start. The large new screen at the away end was a very good addition to the entertainment, bit it was the new tune Pompey came out to that I liked. Not the old Portsmouth by Mike Oldfeild but real bell chimes loud and proud to the tune of Play up Pompey spine tingling moment indeed.

The game was fantastic, not just that we won but we were efficient, calm and kept the ball well. Blackburn like to kick teams of the park, but with Campbell and Primus in defence very little got through. Blackburn were ok but we outclassed them in the end, with Toddy and Kanu scoring three goals between them and a clean sheet with James in goal. Two Blacburn players received red card for there efforts so in the end all went well.

Pompeygary’s Man Of The Match Campbell Strong and calm.
Pompeygary’s Worst Man Savage Can give it but can’t take it
